Jubilee Pool is filled with 5 million litres of sea water and the tides are used to circulate and clean the water daily. The cycle of fortnightly higher tides is used to completely empty and refill the pool; this keeps the water clean and avoids using lots of chemicals, making your Jubilee Pool sea water bathing experience as safe and natural as possible.
We plan regular closures for the draining process and plan to be closed on the following dates (subject to external water quality):
Until it’s heated, you can access the geothermal pool as part of your standard swimming ticket – this pool opens at the same times as the main pool.
We intend to temporarily close the pool in October to finish our geothermal installation and switch on the heat (currently planned in November). The café will remain open throughout this work and we will reopen the pool as soon as we can.
Jubilee Pool is run for the community, by the community, and has been operated since 2017 as a charitable community benefit society.
We have over 1400 shareholders in the community and run as a social enterprise – so all profits go back into the upkeep and running of the pool to ensure it’s here for years to come.
This means we can continue to provide health and wellbeing to all and preserve the community’s amazing Grade 2 listed art-deco building.
Please note that we will be opening the pool and cafe slightly later from 10am onwards on Thursday 8th August due to a private hire of the facilities.
We keep these closures to a minimum and full use of the facilities will be restored as usual from 10am until 8pm.
This activity provides help towards costs like essential maintenance (eg sea wall repairs) to ensure the facilities are here for years to come for everyone to enjoy.
Thank you for your understanding. Please send any queries relating to opening times or customer service to email@example.com
We aim to be open as usual over the weekend, however times may vary in the adverse weather. We will update this page with any further changes.
