Our new normal...

Detailed information about our new normal can be found here.  Please ensure you read this in full before booking or visiting the pool.

Our main & learner pools are not heated.  They are sea water bathing pools and are usually 1-2 degrees above sea temperature.

The geothermal pool is heated to 30-35 degrees.  The geothermal pool opens on 1st September 2020.

Yes!  It opened to the public on 1st September 2020.

Yes.  Please do not enter the pool if you have recently exercised. Time should be allowed for your body to temperature to return to normal after exercise.

Sessions are one hour long.  However, bathers are advised to take regular breaks from the  pool. It is advised to exit the water every 10-15 minutes to allow your body temperature to return to normal.

Yes, although we only have a few spaces.  Bike parking is located outside the Pool Office, ask the ticket Kiosk if you wish you park your bike.

Absolutely! However, please note that you will need to get out of the pool and leave poolside in between sessions as the lifeguards have cleaning duties in between sessions.  You are welcome to wait for your next session anywhere on the green terrace.

Yes, you can reserve a table indoors (max group size is six) by calling us on 01736 369224.  Our outdoor seating is not bookable.

Yes!  But please note that you need to follow our supervision ratios at all times.   

This year the shallow end is specifically for families and children, so they will be in safe, shallow water.

Infants must wear swim nappies.

In line with NHS guidance, we don’t permit pregnant women to bathe in the geothermal pool.

This depends on the age of your child(ren), please see our supervision ratios page.

The main pool is divided into three sections:

Shallow End: Families

Middle: General Swimming

Deep End: Childrens Fun Area (diving permitted if pool depth allows)

Dogs are welcome on our top terrace but are for hygiene reasons and water safety are not allowed on our poolside except for on our designated ‘Dog Day.’  Guide dogs are welcome at all times.

We are not currently taking group bookings.

We aren’t allowing inflatables in the pool this year other than personal flotation devices i.e. armbands.

Sometimes we do this when weather is poor and there are a limited number of customers to help save costs to our charitable organisation on lifeguarding costs.

This year the pool will be separated into three specific areas.  Please see our new normal page for details.

This year we are unable to look after lost property.  Any left items will be disposed of at the end of each swim session.  Please double check that you have everything with you when you leave the pool.

Yes you are welcome to bring food to be eaten poolside however please make sure you don’t bring glass or breakable containers to poolside for safety of other customers.  You can buy food in our café which helps support the running of the pool and keeping it here for future generations. Only food purchased in the cafe can be eaten at cafe tables.

Please note we don’t have any seating on poolside this year.

Our facilities (much of which was built in the 1930s) have been adapted for improved accessibility to enable those with additional access needs to enjoy our lido.

Customer Announcement

POOL & CAFÉ REOPEN
WEDNESDAY 2nd DECEMBER

Following the Government announcement today that Cornwall will be in tier 1 we are pleased to announce that the Geo Pool and Café will be open from Wednesday 2nd December. Tickets for the geo pool will go on sale at 12 noon on 30th November and advance booking is essential. We are again working on a reduced capacity, so we expect the sessions to sell out quickly so be ready on Monday to avoid disappointment. We can’t wait to see you all again!
